Way back in 2019, before COVID-19 turned the world upside down, this was our flagship project for the Smart India Hackathon with Thermo Fisher Scientific. We envisioned a world where crowdsourcing could outsmart an epidemic, keeping citizens informed and predicting its spread before it spiraled out of control. Looking back, it feels eerily prophetic, like we were trying to script the future—if only the future had read our playbook.

Smart India Hackathon 2019

Epidemic Monitor is an application for crowdsourcing epidemic data and using prior trends to predict the spread of the disease in current time and in future cases using historical data trained using state of the art Neural Network.

This project was part of Smart India Hackathon 2019 which is the World's Biggest Open Innovation Model with over 57897 Idea Proposals, 34000+ Teams from all over India and over 200,000+ Students participating in the hackathon.

Our six-member team was selected as one of the top 4 finalists for the problem statement KR1 given by Thermo Fisher Scientific which had north of 700 proposal submissions for the statement.
